Organic Farming Gets A Boost
November 2008 | Industry NewsThe Jordanian government has announced its plans to increase organic agriculture in the country. The initial US$500,000 project is a joint venture between the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation and the Jordan River Foundation, and aims to promote and support organic farming for medicinal herbal plants in order to create employment opportunities, reduce poverty and conserve medicinal plant biodiversity and water resources. This project is part of the broader initiative to develop organic farming in Jordan, which has been funded by the World Bank and executed by a number of government departments and private sector companies as the country
