Hamé targets Russian Growth

Hamé, the Czech arm of Icelandic food manufacturer Nordic Partners, has announced that it aims to expand its presence in Russia. The company views the Russian market, which it entered in the mid-1990s, as one of its main engines of growth and has indicated that it expects its Russian operation to record more than 40% year-on-year (y-o-y) sales growth in 2008. Hamé, which has a manufacturing capacity in excess of 100,000 tonnes and an extensive product-range that includes ready-made foods, pâtés and canned meats, posted a first-half sales increase of 12% y-o-y in August 2008 to reach CZK2.55bn (US$166.4mn).
