Efes Breweries Reports 6% Volume Rise But Warns Of Slowdown

Turkey's market leading brewer Efes Breweries International (EBI) has reported a 6% rise in international beer sales by volume in 2008 but cautioned that sales in Q408 were sluggish in its markets. The brewer is majority-owned by the Turkish beverage company Andalou Efes and has a domestic market share of 79% (BMI estimate). The company's results are in line with expectations and its Q408 data reinforces the effect the global financial crisis is having on beer consumption.
