Spirits Sales Defy Credit Crunch
January 2009 | Company News AlertThe Czech Republic's three leading distillers have defied the global financial crisis's drain on the country and reported sales increases in 2008. Stock Plzen-Bozkov, Granette and Fruko-Schulz all posted credible results, which provided the industry with a dose of goods news as the country enters into recession. The Czech spirits industry is one of the CEE region's most developed with little scope for growth. This is reflected by our forecast that the value of the spirits industry will grow by less than 1% over the next three years - from US$1.73bn in 2009 to US$1.75bn in 2013.
