Saku Continues To Dominate But Braces For Heavy Economic Contraction

Saku Õlletehas continues to lead the Estonian beer market with a market share of around 46% according to AC Nielsen, a market research firm. The company is a fully-owned subsidiary of Carlsberg and has been boosted by the country's strong performance following EU accession in 2005. However, our forecast that Estonia's economy will contract by an almighty 6.4% in 2009 shows that the country is very vulnerable to a sharp fall in external trade and foreign investment from neighbouring EU countries.
