Pepsi Making Steady Progress

With an inconspicuous operating history in South Africa, US soft drinks giant PepsiCo has begun to make steady progress in a market that is dominated by its global rival Coca-Cola. Pepsi has grown its share of the grocery market's carbonated drinks segment to between 5-10% after a period of significant volume growth. While double-digit volume growth is somewhat misleading considering that sales have taken off from a low starting position, the company's progress is encouraging and it should be buoyed by our forecast that South Africa's soft drinks sales will grow by 41.38% in value between 2009 and 2013.
