Nestlé Posts Strong 2008 Results, Remains Upbeat For 2009

Switzerland-based Nestlé has posted a strong set of results for 2008 and said that it is confident that its sales growth in the current year would 'approach 5%'. Although this represents a slight downgrade on a long standing target of growth between 5% to 6% it comes at a time when many of its rivals are slashing forecasts or getting rid of them completely. Chief Executive Paul Bulcke has suggested 2009 would not be 'all doom and gloom' as many major emerging markets are still growing, while the firm's wide range of products means the firm can still prosper
