Nestlé Reduces Bottled Water Investment

Nestlé's Chief Financial Officer Jim Singh has revealed that the firm cut capital expenditure on its bottled water business by 26% in 2008 and said that the company would invest even less in the category in 2009. The bottled water sector has been badly hit by a combination of the economic downturn and increased concern about the product's environmental impact and the revelation that one of the sector's most important players is cutting investment suggests that there is now a worrying lack of ideas about how the category can be turned
