Wimm-Bill-Dann Set For Q4 Loss

It has been reported that Wimm-Bill-Dann (WBD), Russia's leading dairy company, is set to report a net loss of around RUB351.1mn (US$10.2mn) for Q408. Turnover is forecast to come in at RUB22.75bn (US$660.9mn), which would be a 3% year-on-year (y-o-y) decline. Such a posting would be a kick in the teeth to a company that reported a net profit of RUB1.18bn (US$34.4mn) in Q407. BMI's forecast that Russia's private consumption is set to fall by 23.09% y-o-y in 2009 is evidence that the company's operating environment is likely to get worse before it gets better.
