Mokate Eyes CEE Expansion

Poland-based coffee and tea producer Mokate has acquired Czech Republic-based Marila Balirny in a strategic move aimed at strengthening its position across Central and Eastern Europe (CEE). Mokate's domestic and international market positions have grown impressively over recent years as its range of cappuccino products in particular have found favour with consumers. The acquisition of Marila bolsters Mokate's coverage of the Czech market and adds to its existing subsidiaries, namely Timex and Dukat. Through to 2013, BMI is forecasting coffee sales in Czech Republic to grow by 14.97% and reach US$559.8mn.
