AEON Opts For Convenience
April 2009 | Company Finance AlertWorsening consumer confidence and declining profits have forced Japanese retail giant AEON to moderate its short-term capital expenditure plans, with domestic and international projects both hit. However, while tough trading conditions have forced AEON to postpone its February 2011 goal of 100 Chinese outlets by 12 months, the retailer has not entirely abandoned its growth objectives for China, choosing instead to make convenience stores its short-term focus.
