Migros On Track With Expansion

Turkey's largest mass grocery retailer (MGR) Migros Turk has announced that it launched 97 new stores in Q109 (the retailer now operates 1,288 stores in the country) and is on track to reach its target of 400 new store launches in 2009. BMI believes that Migros' aggressive store expansion strategy is justified by our forecast that Turkey's MGR sector will swell in value by a whopping 91.54% between 2009 and 2013, to reach US$34.4bn in the 71mn strong country.
