CEDC Increases Stake In Leading Vodka Producer

Poland-based Central European Distribution Corporation (CEDC) - a regional spirits big hitter - has increased its equity position in Russian Alcohol Group (RAG) by investing a reported US$532mn. RAG is one Central and Eastern Europe's (CEE) leading vodka makers and has an estimated market share close to 15% in Russia's spirits industry. The move falls in line with CEDC's strategy to boost its regional footprint and capitalise on CEE's bullish alcoholic drinks long-term outlook (things do not look so good in the near term).
