Wessanen Reports Loss, Announces Review Of US Operations
May 2009 | Company Finance AlertDutch food group Wessanen has reported that it made a net loss of EUR3.3mn in the first three months of 2009, which compares with a net profit of EUR 7.2mn in the same period in 2008. Sales were flat on an organic basis, but increased by 7.1% on a reported basis thanks to positive currency movements, namely the strengthening of the US dollar. The loss was attributed to increased financing costs and additional expenses linked to diesel fuel price hedging.
