Pepsi Americas Invests In New Water Capacity

Pepsi Americas Czech Republic-based bottled water arm Toma Natura is set to benefit from a 100% capacity increase after the soft drinks giant invested around CZK100mn (EUR3.7mn) in a new production line at a factory operated by General Bottlers CR - Pepsi' principle domestic subsidiary. Although Pepsi's decision to invest in Toma Natura is clearly a far sighted move aimed at increasing its exposure to the still-developing bottled water industry, BMI highlights that the Czech Republic's industry is in for a tough year in 2009. We have forecast bottled water value sales to slide down by close to 30% year-on-year
