Mars Hungary Set For Tougher Year In 2009

Mars Hungary - a subsidiary of the US-based confectionery giant - has reported turnover of HUF50bn (US$179mn) in FY08. Contributing 37% and 8% to its domestic turnover, Mars' snack food and food and drink divisions boast an array of power brands. Mars is also among the top 50 export companies in Hungary. Although it is among the country's most established confectionery and pet food companies, BMI believes that Mars will have its work cut out if it is to make good on its forecast that it will be post moderate revenue growth in Hungary in FY09.
