Hamé Bolsters Domestic Presence With Acquisition

Leading Czech Republic-based food company Hamé bolstered its presence in Hungary by acquiring the canned meat business of Globus, a fairly prominent domestic player with a group turnover of EUR20mn in FY08 (its canned meat business accounted for around 20% of its turnover). Already present in the market through its domestic subsidiary Hamé Hungaria, the acquisition is a promising expansion move expected to at least double Hamé's share of the Hungarian canned meat industry.
