Coca-Cola Seals Acquisition Of Leao Junior, Allowed To Retain Nestea

The Antitrust Division of the Brazilian Justice Ministry (CADE) has approved The Coca-Cola Company's (Coca-Cola) acquisition of ready-to-drink (RTD) tea producer Leao Junior, but has imposed certain restrictions. As part of the ruling, Coca-Cola will no longer be able to market, distribute, or produce the Nestea brand, belonging to Beverage Partners Worldwide, a joint venture between Coca-Cola and Nestlé. However, the ruling does not force Coca-Cola to sell the Nestea unit, meaning the brands from Coca-Cola now have a dominant position in the Brazilian RTD tea
