EU Seeks Fairer Access To High Growth Philippine Spirits Market

The EU is to seek a WTO consultation with the Philippines over the latter's perceived discriminatory excise taxes on imported spirits. Supported by the European Spirits Organisation (ESO), the EU wants an end to taxes that are between 10 and 50 times higher than those imposed on locally produced spirits in order to give European exporters fairer access to one of the Asia's most promising spirits
