South Korean 'Land Grab' In Philippines Shrouded In Mystery

South Korea's continued efforts to bolster food self-sufficiency by way of foreign farm acquisitions continues apace. The latest chapter in the country's 'land grab' quest has, according to a Korean provincial government official, resulted in one south western province, South Jeolla, acquiring 94,000 hectares of land in the Philippines, much to the bemusement of Philippine agricultural officials who claim to be totally in the dark regarding the deal.
