Spanish Wine Exports Fall

The trade body Wines from Spain, has revealed that in the first five months of 2009 exports of Spanish wine fell by 18% in value terms and 22% in volume terms. Figures provided by the Spanish Central Board for Duties and Special Taxes revealed that over the five months to the end of May exports fell to 569.6mn litres with a value of EUR649.6mn. The association revealed that the most dramatic decline had been in exports to Germany, France and Russia, although sales to the UK and the US had also fallen.
