Ambitious EMKE To Invest Over US$1.2bn In Domestic And Regional Projects
August 2009 | Company News AlertUAE-based conglomerate EMKE Group, owner of the Emirate's market leading Lulu fascia of supermarkets and hypermarket, has announced mega expansion plans through to 2010. According to the UAE's Khaleej Times, through to 2010, EMKE will shell out about AED3.2bn (US$0.87bn) by building 14 hypermarkets and shopping centres across the GCC (Gulf Co-operation Council) region. Over the same period, the ambitious firm also plans to spend a further AED1.5bn to bolster its hypermarket footprint in Abu Dhabi by adding a further seven stores.
