Zad Eyeing M&A Deals
August 2009 | Company News AlertIntent on bumping up its manufacturing capacity by about 50% to 600 tonnes a day by 2010, leading Qatari flour mill company Zad Holding (formerly Qatar Flour Mills) is believed to be probing the Qatari market for potential mergers and acquisitions deals. As a producer of essential food commodities, the company appears to be navigating its way through the economic downturn relatively well. Zad recently recorded H109 (through to June 30) net income of QAR46.3mn (US$12.7mn), almost flat on a year-on-year (y-o-y) basis. If Zad successfully meets its capacity increase target, BMI believes the company's export business may well emerge
