Target Increases Focus On Food

US retailer Target has announced that it will expand its grocery business in at attempt to capitalise on the resilience of the sector during the economic downturn. Executive vice president for merchandising Kathy Tesija said that the firm, which also sells clothes, homeware and electronics, will expand the number of grocery lines it sells in an attempt to compensate for a reduction in spending on non-essential items.
