Convenience Retailer 24 Seven To Launch Stores In Dubai and Abu Dhabi

Intent on establishing itself as one of the UAE's leading convenience retailers, 24 Seven has announced plans to launch six stores in Dubai and Abu Dhabi by the end of 2009. Presently running 14 stores in Dubai, the retailer has encouragingly earmarked plans to treble its footprint to about 50 stores over the proceeding three years. BMI sees considerable promise in the underdeveloped modern convenience store segment. Contributing an estimated 4% to wider mass grocery retail sales (MGR) in 2008, through to 2013 we expect convenience store sales to increase by 81.6% and reach AED0.43bn.
