Cargill And Hojiblanca Open Private-Label Olive Oil Plant

Agribusiness giant Cargill and its Spanish partner Hojiblanca have announced the inauguration of a new olive oil bottling facility in the Spanish province of Malaga. The facility, which operates as a 50:50 joint venture named Mercaóleo, required an initial investment of EUR18mn and has the capacity to product 100mn litres of olive oil a year. It can be a seen as a response to growth global demand for olive oil, and the two companies have outlined a long-term goal of becoming leaders in the worldwide private-label olive oil
