Carrefour To Launch 200 Stores In 2010
October 2009 | Company News AlertDriven by dynamic growth forecasts across the hypermarket, supermarket and discount segments, Carrefour has announced plans to launch 200 stores in Turkey in 2010. The expansions will be undertaken by its domestic unit Carrefoursa, a joint venture between the French behemoth and Turkish conglomerate Sabanci Holding. About 100 of the stores will be launched under the Dia hard discount banner with the rest being split between the higher value hypermarket and supermarket segments. While a forecast 94.2% increase in discount category sales to TRL10bn (EUR4.63bn) to 2014 certainly backs up further strengthening of the Dia banner, BMI is particularly encouraged
