Arla To Build London 'Mega-Dairy'

Denmark-based dairy company Arla Foods has announced plans to build a 'mega-dairy' on the outskirts of the London. The facility, set to be the world's largest fresh milk dairy, will have capacity to process 1bn kg of milk a year and should be operational by 2012. During 2009, Arla has cut costs and restructured its business across Europe in response to the downturn but this expansion signals that the firm is increasingly focusing on investing, to benefit from a future upturn.
