Hershey And Ferrero Mulling Rival Bid For Cadbury?

Shares in UK-based confectionery producer Cadbury moved back above GBp800 on November 18 after reports emerged that US-based Hershey and Italy-based Ferrero were considering mounting a bid for the firm that would rival the low-ball offer currently on the table from US-based Kraft. Italy-based daily Il Sore 24 Ore suggested that Ferrero could form an industrial alliance with Cadbury that could help the firm fend off Kraft's bid, while the Wall Street Journal has reported that Ferrero and Hershey are in discussions over a possible joint bid.
