Tesco To Launch More Stores In Regional Outperformer

UK-based giant Tesco, Poland's third largest mass grocery retailer (MGR) by sales behind Metro and domestic co-operative Spolem, is reportedly preparing to launch a further 13 outlets in Poland by the end of Q110 (calendar year). With a store footprint in excess of 330 and having already launched 12 hypermarkets in 2009 to date, Tesco's continued pursuit of diversification (see chart) and increased capital expenditure in the Central European country further underlines Poland's status as a genuine growth market.
