Makarony Set For Strong Growth

Leading Polish pasta producer Makarony Polskie is aiming to strengthen its share of the domestic market to over 20% by end-2009 according to Polish newspaper Parkiet, up from about 15% in 2008. Earlier in 2009, Makarony announced its intention to more than double annual sales over 2-3 years to about PLN200mn (EUR49.2mn). Already reaping the rewards of strengthened capacity - third quarter sales increased by 36% year-on-year (y-o-y) to PLN30.7mn - the company is also likely to pursue non-organic growth to reach its target. Should it succeed, it will be particularly well placed to take advantage of a forecast 9.2%
