Mercadona To Invest US$300mn In New Distribution Centre

Spain's third largest grocery retailer Mercadona has announced plans to invest EUR300mn to build a new distribution centre in the suburbs of Barcelona. The facility is expected to be completed in 2014 and will supply 250 supermarkets. The significant investment comes against the backdrop of a gloomy economic environment.
