Anadolu Efes' Beer Unit Records Modest 2009 Contraction

Efes Breweries International (EBI)'s consolidated volume sales declined 3.1% year-on-year (y-o-y) in 2009 (12 months to December 31 2009) to 13.6mn hectolitres. Bearing in mind that EBI relies on Russia for close to 80% of its volumes - a market where BMI estimates headline beer volumes dipped 8% y-o-y in 2009 - the contraction in group volumes was modest.
