Retailer-Supplier Relationships To Be Governed By Ombudsman

The UK Consumer Minister Kevin Brennan has announced that the government will introduce an independent ombudsman to help govern the relationship between suppliers and leading food retailers. The move follows a recommendation by the country's Competition Commission which has conducted an investigation into the country's supermarket sector for the last two years. The body will be given responsibility for enforcing a new Groceries Supply Code of Practice that comes into force on February 4 2010.
