SABMiller Q3 Volumes Flat

Weighed down by persistent weakness in the core market of South Africa and the regions of Europe and North America, Anglo-South African giant brewing SABMiller has reported flat third quarter beer volumes (the three months to December 31 2009). The underlying result marked a marginal improvement on the 1% year-on-year (y-o-y) contraction reported in H1. BMI notes that African beer volumes (not including the separately classed South Africa) continued to significantly outperform the wider group in Q3 with y-o-y volumes up 7%.
