Beer Sales To Fly In 2010

It looks to be business as usual for Nigeria's beer industry in 2010 with BMI's bullish outlook for headline value and volume sales underlining its position as arguably Africa's most promising. Fairly well insulated from the global financial crisis, Nigeria made light work of knee-jerk projections that its economy would come under significant strain with 2009 GDP growth estimated at a healthy 6.9%, which of course allowed the beer industry to develop similarly with headline value growth estimated at 21.75% to NGN399.6bn (US$2.65bn). Into 2010, value sales are forecast to increase 16.8% with ample support provided by anticipated headline volume
