SABMiller Moves For Argentine Brewer

It has been reported in Argentine newspaper El Cronista that brewing giant SABMiller is in talks to purchase the country's third largest brewer Isenbeck, owned by German brewer Warsteiner. The firm controls 7% of the local market and could fetch around US$300mn. The move would launch SABMiller into the dynamic Argentine market but the firm would be required to invest significant extra funds to gain sufficient scale to compete with the current market leaders.
