Chile Salmon Industry Braced For Another Difficult Year, Norway Picks Up Slack

The chief executive officer of Chile's Salmon industry association, SalmonChile, has suggested that 2010 could be the worst ever year for the sector, with up to 25% of the industry's workforce set to lose their jobs. The salmon industry, one of the country's most highly-developed food sectors, has been decimated by a widespread outbreak of infectious salmon anaemia virus (ISA) which has been blamed on overcrowded conditions.
