PepsiCo To Get Aggressive In China

US beverage behemoth PepsiCo is to aggressively expand its Chinese footprint having received government approval to open a further 10 bottling plants in the country. Taking its total bottling footprint to 14 plants within the next five years, the capacity expansion could allow PepsiCo to close the gap on global rival The Coca-Cola Company (TCCC) in China while also enabling it to better exploit forecast soft drink sales growth of 69% in the country to 2014.
