Campofrio Forms JV With Leading Meat Processor

In a move expected to have a significant bearing on Romania's meat processing industry, Spanish meat processor Campofrio Food Group is expected to enter into a joint venture (JV) with Romania's second-largest meat processor Caroli Foods Group. Noting that the anticipated JV is expected to form Romania's largest meat processing firm by market share with Caroli holding a 51% equity stake, BMI believes a conclusion to the deal subject to regulatory approval would represent a significant breakthrough to Campofrio's long-term outlook across emerging Europe.
