JBS Posts Sales And Earnings Rise
March 2010 | Company Finance AlertBrazil-based JBS, the world's largest beef processor, has reported an increase in revenues and earnings for 2009 on the back of acquisitions and a 'more fluid supply' of Brazilian cattle. In the 12 months to December 31, net sales increased by 13.1% to come in at BRL34.31bn while operating income tripled to reach BRL340.5mn. The firm has used the economic downturn as an opportunity to make substantial acquisitions, which is reflected in surging revenues and earnings, although the company's debts have also increased
