Rewe Supermarket Unit To Launch 20 Stores By End-10

Continuing to invest in strengthening its position in the Balkan and Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) regions, German retail giant Rewe's supermarket arm Billa will launch a further 20 stores in Bulgaria in 2010. Noting Rewe's likely need to cut down its reliance on Germany and indeed Western Europe, which together account for nearly 90% of group sales, BMI considers Bulgaria to be one of the Balkan region's most promising mass grocery retail (MGR) markets.
