Emmi Continues To Look For International Acquisitions

Switzerland's largest dairy group Emmi has posted a decline in sales but an improvement in earnings for its 2009 financial year. In the 12 months to the end of December, Emmi's sales fell by 1.9% to CHF2.62bn. However, net profits for the period increased by 28.3% to CHF75.3mn while earnings before interest and tax (EBIT) increased by 6.8% to CHF109mn. This improvement in profitability can be attributed to a shift in the company's product range to more added value, as well as benefits derived from taking a greater control of its own production. The firm has issued a cautious outlook
