Bel To Sell Domestic Cheese Arm

France-based cheese giant Fromageries Bel has put its Czech Republic Jaromericka unit up for sale after it failed to reach sales targets. The anticipated divestment follows the widespread effect of the 2009 economic crisis across emerging Europe, which had a marked impact on demand patterns (putting the premiumisation trend to bed) for cheese, which according to Bel left it with too much capacity in the region.
