Room For Premiumisation Led Long-Term Beer Growth
April 2010 | Industry Trend AnalysisEmphasising inherent differences in consumer tastes and preferences, alcoholic drinks consumption in Turkey remains some way off most of emerging Europe. Largely reflecting the fact that the population is majority Muslim, per capita annual beer consumption remains below 20 litres. Alluding to the fact that per capita consumption levels are unlikely to ever scale the more than 80 litres consumed in some regional markets, BMI expects premiumisation to take on a central role in driving industry growth. To 2014, headline alcoholic drinks value sales are forecast to increase at an annual average rate of 5.33%.
