FamilyMart Positive In Spite Of Political Risk

Looking to exploit the recovery of consumer demand in 2010, convenience retailer Siam FamilyMart is to accelerate its pace of expansion. BMI sees Thai mass grocery retail (MGR) sales growth accelerating to 6.9% in 2010, growth having slowed to 2.2% in 2009 as consumer confidence fell on the back of economic weakness. FamilyMart will exploit the recovery by ramping up new store openings and focusing on innovative new retail concepts to enhance its competitive positioning.
