SABMiller Regional Growth Story Not All About Beer
May 2010 | Company News AlertWhile beer is rightly taking the plaudits for SABMiller's bourgeoning African growth story, BMI points out that soft drinks, despite slipping under the radar to a large extent, are also contributing sharply as the continent's consumer base starts to really show its cards. In the six months to September 30 2009, soft drinks contributed 33.8% to consolidated Africa-region volume sales (beer supplied 50.5%). In South Africa (categorised separately), soft drinks' contribution was similarly strong at 36.6%.
