Saudi Consumer Spending To Lead Gulf Region
April 2010 | Industry Trend AnalysisHaving come through a difficult 2009 fairly resiliently - a GDP contraction was narrowly avoided with output edging up 0.18% year-on-year (y-o-y) - Saudi Arabia's near-medium term consumer outlook appears strong. With a population in excess of 25mn and a lower disposable income profile than Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) members UAE, Kuwait and Qatar, consumer spending has much further to run long term in a country that makes up nearly two thirds of the consolidated GCC consumer market.
