Another Difficult Year For Food And Drink

Coming of estimated headline food consumption growth of just 1.51% in 2009 compared to trend growth above 5.5% between 2004 and 2008, we see discretion continuing to have a large bearing on tastes and preferences through 2010. With this in mind, we see discount stores continuing to outperform driven by further private label fuelled momentum, which ties into our global 2010 food and drink view for 'more of the same, only less bad'.
