Bahrain Edges Out UAE

With the exception of the highly leveraged UAE emirate of Dubai, the Middle East and North Africa region (MENA) has largely outperformed the global economy over the past eighteen months. Consumer spending has held fairly firm (certainty in comparison to some other emerging regions). Although demand for high margin premium goods slowed in the Gulf region in particular, key frontier markets like Egypt have continued to make strong progress with a number of multinational companies building up a head of steam.
